
Coral Springs High School football vs Coral Glades. {David Volz}
In one of the season’s most anticipated games, Coral Glades knocked off Coral Springs High School in their rivalry game on Friday night.
The Jaguars opened up a 21-0 lead at halftime, following touchdowns and a touchdown pass from AJ Caseus to Chris McDonald. Coral Glades added two more touchdowns in the second half and won 35-6.
The Jaguars also won their junior varsity game, defeating Cooper City High School 42-6. They will play Deerfield Beach in their next game on Wednesday, September 11, at 6:30 p.m.
The Jaguars came into the 0-1 after losing to Cooper City High School and avenged their loss to the Colts last year.
Next, the varsity team will look to make it two straight in their next game against Stranahan High School on Friday, September 13, at 7 p.m. The Mighty Dragons are 0-2 this year with losses against Dillard and Blanche Ely High School. Stranahan won 35-6 in their matchup last year.
The Jaguars also won their junior varsity game, defeating Cooper City High School 42-6. They will play Deerfield Beach High School in their next game on Wednesday, September 11, at 6:30 p.m.
The Colts will try again for their first win and have losses against Palm Beach Lake and Nova High School. They will play Piper High School in their next game on Friday, September 13 at 7 p.m. Head Coach Quentin Short leads the Bengals and are 3-0 this season following wins against Deerfield Beach High School, Somerset Prep, and South Plantation High School while also winning 38-0 last year. Piper has not allowed a point this year through their first three games.
