Coral Springs cross country teams are performing well early in the season.
The Coral Springs Charter School girls’ team won first place, and Coral Glades High School girls took second place at a BCAA meet at Tradewinds Park on September 9.
Charter’s Lily Richardson earned second place, Taylor Hartley took third place, and Sydney McDougall earned sixth place.
The Coral Glades boys team won first place, and Charter’s team took third place.
Coral Springs High School’s Marcus Gentilhomme earned first place, Coral Glades’ Giovanni Guevara earned second, and Fabio Castillo earned third. Charter’s Lucas Werth earned fourth place.

The Taravella High School runners did not participate in this meet, but the Trojans have some talented athletes. Leading boys include JahRee Pierre, Justin Williams, and Scardy Fils. Top runners for the girls include sisters Camila and Valentina Castillo and Oliva Noel, according to coach Dawn Spann.
Coral Glades coach Frankie Cunningham believes his team will do well. “We have been working hard, and we have run well in our early meets,” he said.
Coral Springs Charter coach Brantley Barr said the girls’ team is very strong and improving. “We are working on the team concept in the early meets, and we have a strong girls’ team,” he said.
