Cross-Country Runners From Coral Springs Compete at State Championship

Coral Springs Charter Girls’Cross-Country Team. {David Volz}
Cross-country season is officially over, following multiple teams competing in the State Championship at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee.
The Coral Springs Charter girls’ team had the best result in the city, finishing in 12th place overall. Alyson Thomas had the best time for the Panthers, finishing 62, three spots behind Lily Richardson. Sydney McDougall placed 71st, followed by Cecilia Kozlowski, Hailey Lockwitz, Taylor Hartley, and Mia Collela.
The J.P. Taravella girls team finished 30th as a team, with Oivia Noel recording the top time. Valentina Castillo, Jada Thelwell, Camille Castillo and Jocelyn Hart.
Caileen Canales and Samira Belizaire both ran for the Trojans. Olivia Higgins was the lone runner from Coral Springs High School to race for the girls and placed 77th.
The Coral Springs High School boys cross-country team featured Matthew Wykpisz placing 79th, while Marcus Gentilhomme, David Doreus, and Tyler Cline. Tyler Joseph, Marvens Marcelus, and Micaiah Wilburgh all ran. Craig Dennis was the lone runner to qualify for the J.P. Taravella boys team.
