MLK recipients in 2025. {City of Coral Springs}
Applications are now open for the City of Coral Springs Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship, offering financial support to graduating high school seniors who demonstrate academic promise, community service, and a commitment to the values of Dr. King.
The scholarship, awarded annually by the Coral Springs MLK Committee, provides one-year financial assistance for students planning to attend an accredited college, university, or technical school. Funds are sent directly to the institution to support tuition and related academic expenses.
To qualify, applicants must be Coral Springs residents for at least one year and currently enrolled as seniors at J.P. Taravella High School, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Coral Springs High School, Coral Springs Charter School, or Coral Glades High School. A minimum GPA of 2.5 and U.S. citizenship or permanent residency are required.
In keeping with Dr. King’s legacy, the scholarship prioritizes students who have shown dedication to humanitarian efforts or community service. Applicants must submit verification of service from a teacher, counselor, or clergy member, along with two letters of recommendation.
Required materials include a completed application, a recent transcript, FAFSA documentation, proof of college acceptance, and a copy of the family’s most recent tax return. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
The deadline to apply is March 6, 2026. Selected finalists will be invited for interviews in April, and scholarship recipients will be notified shortly after.
Last year, the Coral Springs MLK Committee awarded $40,000 in scholarships to 24 local seniors.
