Coral Springs Charter girls volleyball made an impressive run in the Broward County Athletic Association Big Eight Championship, finishing second in their tournament at Pompano Beach High School.
The Panthers, who came into the week with 15 victories, won their quarterfinals matchup against Cooper City High School. On Wednesday, CSC advanced to the championship after defeating Cardinal Gibbons 21-25, 25-17, 15-9.
However, their run came to an end in the final against St. Thomas Aquinas High School. After losing 25-11, 25-12, 25-13 on August 26 in their first meeting, the Panthers won the opening set set before falling 25-19,18-25,13-15. Also, it was the first set that St. Thomas has lost in their last 30.
Up next, they will get set to play in the District Tournament on Wednesday, October 20 at 7 p.m. CSC comes in as the top seed in District 12 4A. They will face the winner of North Broward Preparatory School and Dreeyfoos School of the Arts for a chance to play in the championship.
