Coral Springs Charter’s wrestling team began the season participating in the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs Duals.
.
The Panthers went 3-2 as a team with wins over South Plantation, Coconut Creek, and Dillard High School while falling to both Cardinal Gibbons and Fort Lauderdale.
Individually, Preston Lindsay went a perfect 5-0 while both Brock Wilson, Jaiden Valentine, and Keon Taylor went 4-1. Logan Bosworth, Griffin Perko, and Owyn Vargas won three matches. The others Panthers that earned wins were Hannah Mader and Hunter Perez.
Head Coach Eric Perez feels confident that a community is building around the Coral Springs Charter wrestling program.
“The community includes coaches, our athletic director, wrestlers, and parents who support one another,” said Coach Perez. “I expect to not only build a powerhouse program that will set an example for other schools, but to also and more importantly create outstanding young men and women out of their experience with the team.”
Next, CSC will compete at the Bear Down Duals held at Mater Lakes Academy in Hialeah on December 11.
