Fitwize 4 Kids is on a mission to celebrate birthdays this year. The Coral Springs nonprofit organization is launching “Operation Birthday Bash Drive-Thru” on September 12 for children ages 5-12 with birthdays in March, April, May, June, July, and August.
Executive Director and U.S. Marine Alex Duran collected 400 name-brand toys to be donated on a first-come basis. “Due to COVID-19, many children in Broward County have been home since March with limited access to celebrate their birthdays,” said Duran.
“Fitwize 4 Kids understands the importance of being recognized on your special day. We will have balloons, gifts and will be singing ‘Happy Birthday’ with a guest appearance from Sesame Street’s Elmo.”
Fitwize 4 Kids, which focuses on youth development through integrated fitness, nutrition, life skills, and leadership training, is also accepting donations in additional toys or funding for the event.
“Being a force for good in our community is what Fitwize 4 Kids stands for,” said Duran.
Operation Birthday Bash Drive-Thru occurs on September 12 from 11 am to 1 pm at 4641 N State Rd 7, Unit 15B, behind the FedEx building in Coral Springs.
