Data released by the Florida Department of Health on February 25 show 4,483,497 – or 14.06 percent of Floridians have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination.

Florida has fully vaccinated 7.71-percent of its population. Broward County has a population of 1,9 million residents as of 2019 and 391,488 doses of the vaccine have been administered, and 145,194 people are now fully vaccinated.

In COVID-19 cases, 136,134 tests were conducted on February 25. Out of those, 9,175 came back positive. Of the positive test results, 5,941 were those finding out they had tested positive for the first time.

Not only did testing and cases decline compared to previous days, but the positivity rate also declined to 6.74-percent, a steady decrease compared to the numbers reported earlier this week.

Coral Springs has reported 10,909 total positive COVID-19 cases — an increase of 121 positive cases since February 24.

Statewide in Florida, there have been 1,898,223 positive cases to date. The average age to contract COVID-19 in Broward County on February 25 was 38-years-old, slightly younger than usual. For months, the average Floridian to test positive has hovered between 39 and 42-years-old.

Since the pandemic began, 79,021 Floridians have been hospitalized due to complications of COVID-19, and 30,624 have died. Of the total deaths, 2,369 were from Broward County, with an increase of 8 new deaths since February 24.
