
Coral Springs Police Department {Aiden Palmer}
The Coral Springs Police Department reported numerous crimes across the city between May 12 and May 18, 2025. Please note that the police have redacted the names of victims and addresses of most incidents.
Retail Thefts and Burglaries
A burglary to a business with forced entry was reported on May 16. The break-in occurred sometime between May 15 at 11:55 p.m. and May 16 at 4:49 p.m.
Target at 9600 Westview Dr. reported a retail theft on May 14. The theft occurred on May 11, with an estimated loss of $63.
On May 12, Publix at 2201 N University Dr. reported a felony retail theft with an estimated loss of $539.
Walgreens at 5480 N University Dr. reported a retail theft on May 16, with an estimated loss of $468.
Additional shoplifting incidents were reported at Walmart (multiple dates and locations), including losses of $29, $395, and $138.
Grand Theft and Fraud
A victim reported a grand theft on May 12 from a residence on NW 124th Ave. Total loss was approximately $33,472.
A grand theft automobile was reported stolen between April 17 and May 13 from W Atlantic Blvd, with a second vehicle stolen from NW 88th Dr. estimated at $4,000.
Fraud-related cases totaled tens of thousands in losses. One incident reported on May 14 involved $36,000, while another wire fraud case reported on May 15 involved a $28,000 loss.
Violent Crimes and Battery
A school board employee was the victim of battery on May 12.
On May 13, a 77-year-old woman was the victim of battery at a location on W Atlantic Blvd.
Several domestic battery incidents occurred throughout the week, with reports on May 12, 14, 16, and 17.
An attempted murder was reported on May 18. Details were not disclosed.
Drug and DUI Offenses
Two suspects were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia on May 12 and 15.
On May 17, Katharine Marie Pessl, 42, was arrested for DUI at 12100 W Sample Rd.
Max Dillon Tutwiler, 36, was arrested on May 15 for possessing more than 20 grams of cannabis.
Other Notable Incidents
A case of lewd or lascivious acts was reported on May 15.
A suspect was charged with fleeing a police officer with lights and sirens on May 16 near W Sample Rd.
Animal control responded to a dog bite incident on May 16 near NW 116th Terrace.
Several reports of suspicious incidents, threats, and risk of harm were recorded during the week.
Arrests
Taylor Elliot Wesson, 28, was arrested for felony retail theft at Publix.
Chanel Lauren Gonzalez, 30, was charged with aggravated battery on a person 65 or older.
Rodney Wooten, 72, was charged with felony petit theft, having two or more prior convictions.
Angel A. Ortiz Lago, 27, was arrested for aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony.
Andres Baron, 40, was arrested for domestic violence assault.
