A woman is facing grand theft and identity-related charges after investigators accused her of stealing more than $3,100 from a former Coral Springs employer through a series of unauthorized Zelle transfers.
According to a Coral Springs Police Department investigation report, Lisa Michelle Stanford, formerly known as Lisa Michelle Buonocore, 49, was taken into custody by Coconut Creek Police on June 26 on an outstanding Broward County warrant on charges of grand theft and criminal use of personal identification information.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the investigation began after the owner of ATD Mediation & Arbitration LLC reported suspicious Zelle transfers from the company’s Chase business account.
Police said the business owner discovered two unauthorized deposits totaling $900 into Buonocore’s personal account in August, then identified additional transactions during a review of the account.
Investigators ultimately alleged that multiple unauthorized Zelle payments had been sent to Buonocore over several months. According to the affidavit, the total financial loss was $3,161.64.
Investigators said bank records showed a series of Zelle transfers made between early 2024 and August 2025.
Police also obtained surveillance video from the Whispering Woods business plaza, where ATD Mediation & Arbitration is located, for the days and times the incidents occurred.
Authorities said they contacted Buonocore by phone during the investigation, but she declined to answer questions or provide a statement.
The affidavit notes that Buonocore has since legally changed her name to Lisa Michelle Stanford, which is the name listed on her June 26 booking record.
Stanford was booked into the Broward County Main Jail on June 27. Her bond was set at $5,000.
