The Coral Springs High School boys basketball and girls team held senior night on Friday.
The Colts were able to pick up a 71-31 victory over Northeast High School after honoring five seniors who built CSHS into one of the top teams in Broward County.
Boys Team
Seniors are Jonathan Fils, Allen Mathieu, Jordan Carmona, Stevenson Borgella and Ahmad Kahn. The Colts also picked up a 71-31 win, which was the team’s 11th of the season, and snapped a four-game losing streak as Greg Spate led the team with 18 points.
“These seniors have been tremendous in helping turn the program back around over the last few years,” said Head Coach Devin Barta. “They have set the tone for how we want our program to run, and that is with 100 percent effort day in and day out, and these seniors have brought that.”
Girls Team
The girl’s team only had two seniors in Xeniah Smith and Stephanie Orozco, both key contributors throughout their varsity careers. Those seniors are The Colts ended up falling 50-31 t Northeast High School is now 8-6 this year.
Next, both teams will get set to face Western High School on Monday, January 24. The girls will start at 6 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m.
