A Coral Springs couple who worked for years as trusted housecleaners have been arrested for allegedly stealing precious jewelry, cash, and valuables from multiple victims, authorities said Wednesday.
According to Broward Sheriff’s Office Tamarac District detectives, Oscar German Munoz, 61, and Martha Cecilia Molano, 57, were arrested May 6 on charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure and grand theft between $750 and $5,000.
BSO’s case began in early April when a senior couple living in the Yardley community in Tamarac reported the theft of thousands of dollars of valuables from their home.
Detectives followed the evidence to Munoz and Molano, who were seen on surveillance video waiting for the victims to leave their residence, climbing the staircase to their home with cleaning supplies, and exiting the victims’ home a short time later, according to BSO.
Investigators said that further investigation revealed a pattern of burglaries in the community under similar circumstances and methods.
The investigation also revealed that the suspects sold stolen jewelry at pawn shops and used the proceeds to fund lavish trips abroad, according to BSO.

On May 5, detectives served a search warrant at the couple’s home on Northwest 86th Lane in Coral Springs and found hundreds of items belonging to the victims, including necklaces, rings, watches, earrings, gems, coins, and cash, authorities said.
In all, detectives said there may have been dozens of burglaries where the couple preyed on elderly or affluent victims under the guise of being trusted housecleaners.
The investigation into the couple is active and ongoing, and they are believed to have cleaned homes elsewhere in Tamarac and in Palm Beach County, according to BSO.
Anyone who believes they were a victim is asked to call BSO Detective Danny Polo at 954-720-2225.
