A Coral Springs man is accused of beating his pregnant girlfriend, pouring liquor on her, and ripping off her wig before she fled barefoot to call 911, police said.
According to a Coral Springs Police Department arrest report, Darion Javarius Johnson, 32, was arrested on March 29 and charged with aggravated battery after officers responded to a 911 call originating near the 10700 block of Northwest 43rd Court.
Police say the 911 call came from the victim, who told officers she was pregnant with Johnson’s child, after she ran barefoot from the scene, wounded, and in fear of his life.
Records show the incident began following an argument over alleged infidelity. The victim told investigators that Johnson picked her up in his vehicle and drove her to his home, where the confrontation escalated.
While parked outside, Johnson allegedly exited the car, walked around to the passenger side, and punched the victim in the mouth with a closed fist.
When the victim attempted to defend herself, police say Johnson forcefully pulled her out of the vehicle by her leg and poured liquor all over her.
Investigators say the violence continued at the front door of the home, where the victim desperately tried to get help. Johnson allegedly followed her, snatched her phone from her hand, and ripped her wig off her head before throwing the phone back at her.
The victim then ran from the home to call 911, losing her shoes in the process as she fled barefoot down the street.
Officers later observed injuries consistent with her account. Police also noted that a wig was found outside the home and that sandals believed to belong to the victim were located in the street.
Johnson was located at the residence and taken into custody. He was transported to the Broward County Main Jail and later released after posting a $3,500 bond.
