State officials suspended the licenses of a Coral Springs man’s nursing credentials after he was arrested on child rape charges, records show.
John Kenson Jean Louis, 40, was arrested by Coral Springs Police on June 6 and charged with two counts of sexual battery along with five counts of lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim under 16 and older than 12, according to an Aug. 2 emergency suspension order by State Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo.
Jean Louis has pleaded not guilty to all charges, court records show.
The investigation into Jean Louis’ alleged crimes began in January when police responded to a call about a family altercation at his home on Northwest 48th Drive.
Several of the victim’s family members had confronted Jean Louis about the alleged rapes, which the victim said happened inside the nurse’s home, according to an arrest affidavit.
Jean Louis denied the incidents happened, the record states.
Officers learned the nurse had been sexually assaulting the female teenage victim, who told them he raped her periodically for about two years starting in 2022, according to the emergency order.
In each instance, Jean Louis allegedly held the victim down on a bed and raped her for 10 to 20 minutes, the order states.
The victim said Jean Louis told her, “Don’t tell nobody,” and warned her that she “gotta take that to the grave or he’ll walk on her grave.”
She said the last rape happened in October 2023 at Jean Louis’ birthday party.
“Where’s my birthday gift?” Jean Louis allegedly asked the victim, according to the arrest affidavit.
“He did the same thing like he did the first time,” the girl told police. “It’s just the same thing over and over again, like with nothing changing.”
The victim also said Jean Louis would inappropriately touch her breasts, buttocks, and vagina around five times a week, both under and over her clothing, according to the order.
Coral Springs Police said they also received a report of a sexual battery in January 2020 from a female who said Jean Louis raped her in a bathroom at his home, records show.
State officials said formal discipline of Jean Louis would be sought at a disciplinary proceeding, apart from the criminal charges he faces.
According to court records, Jean Louis is free on a $250,000 bond and has been wearing a GPS ankle monitor since June 12.
State records show that he has been a licensed registered nurse since September 2016 and an advanced practice registered nurse since June 2021.
