Two Olympic athletes, including a bronze medalist from the Tokyo 2020 Games, are bringing their world-class expertise to the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex.
Olympic bronze medalist Bruno Fratus and Olympic competitor Michelle Lenhardt have joined the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex coaching team under an existing contract with Swim Phish, Inc.
Fratus, who won a bronze medal for Brazil in the 50-meter freestyle at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and Lenhardt, a former member of Brazil’s 4×100 meter freestyle relay team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, will bring their extensive experience to athletes training at the facility.
“Coming off the heels of the 2024 Paris Olympics, we could not be more excited to welcome two Olympians who already have strong ties to Coral Springs,” Mayor Scott Brook said. “Their experience will certainly inspire the athletes they train and elevate our swim program to new heights.”
Fratus has had a distinguished international career in aquatics spanning over a decade. He conducted most of his training for the Tokyo Olympics at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex, which is recognized as a top-tier swimming and training facility.
Lenhardt, who also has a background in competitive swimming and coaching, currently works as a nutrition and health coach. She will officially begin her coaching duties on Monday, while Fratus will start in early September.
