Scams and financial fraud are constant problems as scammers find new ways to take advantage of people.
To educate individuals on how to recognize scams, the Rotary Club of Coral Springs, the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs, and the Coral Springs Community Chest will sponsor an event called the Protection Against Scammers Workshop on Wednesday, September 17, at noon at Veterans Hall, 2501 Coral Springs Drive, according to Sal Golfo, a member of the Rotary Club. The event is free to the public.
The workshop is being presented by the Coral Springs Police Department’s economic crimes team. “
We want to prevent identity theft and show people how to recognize scammer activities and protect themselves. Older citizens are the most susceptible and preyed upon by scammers,” said Golfo.
