
Coral Glades Football. {David Volz}
The Coral Glades football team secured back-to-back wins following a 7-0 victory over Strahan High School on Friday.
Romero Williams scored the lone touchdown in the game and finished with 25 carries for 125 yards. Quarterback AJ Casseus ran for 63 yards, while the defense forced two more turnovers, bringing their total to 12 through their first four games of the season.
The Jaguars are 2-2 this year, following their previous win over Coral Springs High School a week ago. They will play Hallandale High School in their next game on Thursday, September 18, at 7 p.m. They are 2-1 this year with wins against Fort Lauderdale and Northeast High School, while they won three games last year, including a 20-19 victory over Coral Glades in overtime.
The J.P. Taravella football team also won its first game a week ago, but lost on Thursday night to Everglades High School 33-6. The Trojans are 1-3 heading into a week where the Trojans will play twice. JPT will begin with a matchup against Hollywood Hills High School on Monday, September 15, at 4 p.m. before playing Western High School on Friday, September 19, at 7 p.m.
Coral Springs High School had the week off and will face South Plantation High School on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. The Colts lost 42-6 in their only meeting last season against the Paladins.
Coral Springs Charter also had the week off and will play against Pompano Beach High School on Friday, September 19, at 7 p.m. The Golden Eagles are 1-3 with their lone win coming against Marathon High School after losing 30-0 in the lone meeting with the Panthers last year.
