Having driven past that intersection daily since 1996 and observing the increase of traffic and accidents that occur there. My opinion is the Traffic lights need updating. Namely the turning lanes.
Coral Ridge Drive is a raceway heading north from Royal Palm Blvd, posted speed is 45,most people drive 55 -65 mph, screeching cars, motorcycles,I have never seen the CSPD set up a radar gun in this area, it is a constant problem that no one is doing anything to prevent this, was speed a factor in this accident ? judging by the damage of the cars I saw Monday it must have been, they were mangled beyond recognition and a 69 year old man lost his life. An 18 year old driving a corvette ? Really, how fast was he going ?? That road is becoming more dangerous by the moment, Coral Ridge Drive and Royal Palm intersection have had so many accidents as well as Sample and Wiles.CSPD we desperately need your help at these intersections before more people lose there lives
So many people have been killed on the streets (both pedestrians and motor vehicle accidents) – and I agree with Tony about Coral Ridge Drive and Coral Springs Drive. Where are the cops? Where are they in the mornings when the kids are going to school? Royal Palm Blvd. is a raceway TO and FROM Coral Glades High School with high school kids — I witnessed one kid full of teens blow through the stop signal of a bus loading off kids from CS Charter…and barely missing the kids. Parents picking up were screaming at the driver to stop. Wake up cops! How can we get them to pay attention to this issue? Most of the time I see them in Coral Springs restaurants during school let out times…uh huh
Sorry to tell you all the CSPD is not interested in working too hard. Try getting them to care for anything other than an easy day.
