Cornerstone developers offer a peak into the future multiuse development with recently released floor plans and artist renderings of the North and South Blocks.
The city’s architectural review committee will discuss these plans further at their meeting on Wed., Nov. 9, starting at 4 p.m.
The committee is one of several tasked with reviewing plans for the mixed-use property at the southwest corner of Sample Road and University Drive.
The meeting follows an October workshop that the city commission held with the community redevelopment agency to discuss the project’s progress.
Scott Backman, an attorney representing development company Predesco, stated developers were in talks with over two dozen restaurants and retailers about opening up at Cornerstone.
These include P.F. Chang’s, J. Alexander’s, Yard House, and Capital Burger.
While the artist’s renderings depict the North and South Blocks, the updated floor plans, originally presented at the October workshop, primarily focus on the North Block.
The North Block will include an eight-story residential building with 361 rental units and 771 parking spaces.
It will include 23,696 square feet of ground-level retail and restaurant space.
There will be three internal courtyards with a pool and amenities. There will also be a sunset terrace on the eighth floor overlooking City Hall.
The committee will also suggest landscape features, buffers, sidewalks, gateway elements, and roofing.
