Through our joint effort with the Coral Springs Police Department to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes that occurred in Coral Springs through March 3, 2020. Names of those not arrested have been redacted.

Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer

Acosta, Alberto Felipe, 66, was arrest on charges of Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer on February 27, at 8268 Wiles Rd. According to the report, the officer observed the man swaying back and forth on the sidewalk with what he later confirmed was a can of beer in his hand in front of the Exxon Mobil Gas Station. He was waving and yelling at cars, causing them to slow down, as well as obstructing the flow of traffic.

Acosta was hostile and yelling, and on one account, balling up his fists. After another officer arrived, Acosta stood up aggressively and charged at him. Acosta was pushed backward to create separation and was taken into custody, where he continued to yell, scream and spit in the backseat of the patrol vehicle.

Miller Electric Company was the victim of Burglary Conveyance -forced Entry at 2630 NW 106th Ave on 02/25/2020.

A 52-year-old female was the victim of Burglary To Residence – Forced Entry at the 3900 block of Woodside Dr on 02/27/2020.

A 53-year-old female was the victim of Burglary Residence – Non-forced Entry at the 110 block of Glenwood Dr, on 03/02/2020

A 50-year-old male was the victim of a Burglary Residence – Non-forced Entry at the 1100 block of NW 39th Ct on 03/02/2020.

A 29-year-old female was the victim of a Burglary Conveyance -forced Entry at the 3500 block of NW 116th Ter, on 03/03/2020.

A 40-year-old male was the victim of a Burglary Conveyance-non-forced Entry at the 5700 block of NW 50th St on 03/02/2020.
