Coral Springs is gearing up for a flurry of upcoming events.
The city announced Tuesday a partnership with Florida Panthers IceDen, which will increase outreach and the number of events for residents to enjoy.
The 125,000-square-foot facility, located at 3299 Sportsplex Drive, is the official practice facility of the Florida Panthers. It hosts over one million people per year from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.
Besides the Panthers, the facility is home to the Coral Springs Makos, Youth Hockey Leagues, Learn to Skate, and Learn to Play, according to a press release.
In a press release, City Manager Frank Babinec said that the city and the IceDen entered into an agreement before COVID-19 for facility improvements and to allow residents to use the facility more.
“Hosting free, family-friendly events is key to our mission of being the premier community in which to live, work and raise a family,” Babinec said. “I am excited these plans are finally being realized.”
