When you cross a trained (New York style) pastry chef with a bread baker. What do you get? The promise of scrumptious food and a tantalizing menu.
Such will be the case at the end of this month when Generoso’s Italian Sandwich Shoppe & Espresso Bar opens its doors at 6230 Coral Ridge Drive, Suite 106, in the Heron Bay area.
Owners – a husband-and-wife team – Lauren and Tony Generoso are transplants from the Big Apple to Coral Springs. Lauren is the pastry chef part of the duo, having studied at the old French Culinary Institute in Manhattan’s upscale SOHO section. Tony is the bread baker in the family and grew up in the business, Lauren said.
The Generosos and their children live in Heron Bay. Lauren said they’re thrilled about opening their new business, “which is nestled in the heart of our neighborhood. Follow as we transform our dreams into reality.”
Lauren said to expect their menu to feature signature sandwiches on artisan Italian bread, a full espresso bar with specialty coffee drinks, antipasto, and charcuterie board catering options. And of course, Chef Lauren Generoso’s delicious desserts. “Our shoppe is a reflection of our family’s culinary heritage and love for food and community,” she said. “We can’t wait to share it with you.”
Lauren adds they will be sharing updates and sneak peeks every step of the way. Meanwhile, they’ve been busy preparing for their grand opening. “We’ve been pouring our hearts into renovations, testing recipes, and bringing something special to life for the neighborhood,” she said.
She said they’re getting the shop ready to open on Sept. 25. The renovations are just about complete, with the permitting process closed out last week.
