Fitwize 4 Kids officially opened on April 25, promising a comprehensive approach to child development through physical fitness and life skills education.
The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce held the grand opening event.
Located at 4641 North State Road 7, Fitwize 4 Kids is the brainchild of Alex Duran, a Marine Corps veteran with a vision to nurture both the bodies and minds of children.
The center is dedicated to children aged 5-13, offering a range of activities from traditional fitness programs like step and rowing machines to innovative educational lessons in personal finance, meal preparation, and social courtesy.
The program extends into personal development with boxing, self-defense, and anti-bullying courses. One of the standout features of the curriculum is its emphasis on STEM activities, including practical exercises like designing and constructing models of houses that can withstand severe storms.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Fitwize 4 Kids operates not just as a gym but as a holistic life skills and leadership training facility.
Its mission is to empower youth by promoting self-esteem, healthy lifestyles, and proper nutrition, improving their physical, emotional, and social health outcomes.
“We have kids work out, and we also want them to be able to do well in life,” he said. I want children to be able to defend themselves and become productive humans.”
The center employs certified instructors who deliver a curriculum integrating fitness with critical life skills. This approach ensures that children are not only physically engaged but also encouraged to develop socially and emotionally in a supportive environment.
