Turtle Creek Drive experienced an unexpected closure following a garbage truck fire on Saturday afternoon.
Around 3:16 p.m., a Republic Services garbage truck driver dumped his flaming trash load onto Creekside Dr., closing Turtle Creek and Wiles.
Mike Moser, Deputy Chief for the Coral Springs-Parkland Department, stated the roadway would be closed for several hours to facilitate cleanup efforts. Authorities are urging drivers to take alternate routes and avoid the area.
At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Further details will be released as they become available.
