Head Coach Ian Headley of Coral Springs High School’s football team picked up his first win in a terrific 19-14 victory over North Broward Preparatory School.
The Colts scored three touchdowns after only recording one through their first three games of the season Thursday night.
For Coach Headley, this was a moment he had been waiting for and couldn’t be happier following his team’s performance.
“It means the world to me,” said Coach Headley. “They gave me my opportunity, and I’m so happy for these kids as they worked so hard and overcame so much. I’m super excited for these guys.”
Quarterback Owens Noel Jean threw a pair of touchdown passes to Garth Lewis. Tyson Lubin added a rushing touchdown while Tyrique Gordon and Samari Reed both played an impressive game while Keshawn Murray made the game winning interception.
“Hats off to the defense and my defensive staff,” Coach Headley added. “They are the pillar to this program and our success. I’m so proud of our offensive line as well. It all starts with them up front.”
With the win, the Colts improved to 1-3 on the season. Up next, CSHS will play Calvary Christian Academy on Friday, October 8 at 7 p.m.
