The J.P. Taravella football team picked up its first win of the season Thursday night, defeating Northeast High School 19-6.
Dylan Peterson threw a pair of touchdown passes to Kauden Gadson and also recorded an interception on defense. Keyon Andrews added a rushing touchdown for the Trojans.
J.P. Taravella opened the season with a 30-16 loss to Fort Lauderdale High School before responding with its first victory and snapping an 11-game losing streak. The Trojans will look to make it two straight when they face Cooper City High School on Thursday, September 3, at 6 p.m.
The Cowboys enter the matchup with a 2-0 record following wins over North Broward Prep and Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
