The J.P. Taravella boys’ track team continues to enjoy success, as demonstrated by their recent performance at a national competition.
Building on their strong season, the Trojans’ 4×400 relay team earned sixth place with a time of 3.23 at the Under Armor Track and Field Nationals on May 30 at IMG Academy in Bradenton.
Team members included Joshua Reneau, JahRee Pierre, Scardy Fils, and Jamaal Elliott.
“The relay team did well at the meet, but I always want them to improve,” said Coach Dawn Spann. “This was a large national meet, and there were athletes from all over the nation.”
The Trojans’ runners will remain active this summer. They will compete at the Adidas Track Nationals at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina, on June 18-21.
Afterward, they will take on new competition at the AAU Club Championship at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville on July 5-11.
