The month begins with a special Coral Springs Let’s Move! Caribbean Dance Class in honor of Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer, whose vibrant spirit and love for her heritage continue to inspire our community. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 10, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the City Hall Lawn (9500 West Sample Road). Join us for a high-energy class celebrating the rich traditions she proudly embraced. The Coral Springs Museum of Art will be hosting Art@Night: Caribbean Night to continue the celebrations on Thursday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy happy hour, music, and an art-themed activity.
The museum will also feature two exhibits on view from June 5 through August 1: Across This Land: America at 250 and Clyde Butcher: Lifeworks in Photography. Across This Land: America at 250 is a contemporary exhibition celebrating the American landscape through works exploring natural, urban, and everyday environments. Clyde Butcher: Lifeworks in Photography showcases 45 stunning large-format black-and-white photographs spanning more than 50 years of the acclaimed photographer’s career. A unique Historical Bus Tour featuring a guided visit to the Coral Springs Museum of History will take place on June 12 at 10 a.m. and June 15 at 3 p.m. The tour is free for residents, but registration is required. This engaging educational experience offers participants the opportunity to explore Coral Springs’ rich history, cultural heritage, and ongoing growth.
On Friday, June 19 at 5:30 p.m. The city will honor Juneteenth with a complimentary pre-party featuring small bites, a live DJ, and dynamic performances, all at no cost at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts (2855 Coral Springs Drive). At 8 p.m., enjoy a comedy show by legendary comedian, actor, author, television host, and award-winning radio host, Rickey Smiley. Tickets are available for purchase now.
The Community is also invited to join Marine Scientist Kyle Pisano for a discussion titled “Plastics, Pollution, and Parrotfish: How Innovation Can Lead to Unexpected Solutions,” on Saturday, June 27 at 2 p.m. at the Coral Springs Museum of Art, (2855A Coral Springs Drive). The presentation will highlight how everyday choices can reduce pollution and support marine habitat restoration. The event is open to the public, and registration is required on the city’s website.
