After catching his ex-girlfriend communicating with another man on her phone, a Coral Springs man was arrested for burglary with assault, domestic violence, and grand theft after punching her and stealing her phone in a fit of jealousy.
On January 30, Coral Springs Police responded to a call at the 9000 block of West Atlantic Boulevard and met with a victim who alleged her ex-boyfriend, later identified as Rodelson Noel, 28, had assaulted her and stole her cell phone.
According to the report, the victim told officers she has three children with Noel and had recently broken off a six-year relationship with him. She arrived at Noel’s home to pick up the children when a verbal altercation ensued over her relationship with a man she had communicated with on social media.
The victim told officers the verbal altercation turned physical and that Noel punched her with a closed fist in the face, then reached inside her vehicle and grabbed her cellphone. Noel then walked away with the phone as he tried to get access to the phone via passcode.
When officers interviewed Noel, he admitted to taking the victim’s cellphone but claimed he handed it back to her when he realized he would be unable to get beyond the passcode. Noel denied physically assaulting the victim, but officers did find the victim to have a bloody lip in the area she had claimed Noel punched her.
Noel was placed under arrest and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. He is currently being held without bond as he awaits trial.
