A man who shot his ex-girlfriend’s new beau in Coral Springs has been charged with attempted murder, court records show.
Kayson Lalla, 21, was also charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for shooting the victim on Dec. 9 in the parking lot of Lalla’s ex-girlfriend’s residence, according to an arrest warrant filed in the case.
Lalla, of North Lauderdale, initially visited the apartment to drop off milk for the two children he and the woman share when he ran into her new boyfriends, records show.
He drove away but returned a short time later, confronting the victim in the parking lot, the warrant states.
Lalla fired one bullet into the ground and another into the victim’s lower abdomen.
The victim, whose name was not made public, was rushed in an ambulance to North Broward Medical Center and required surgery for his injuries, police said.
The victim’s condition was not immediately available Monday.
Lalla drove away from the shooting scene in a gray Nissan Altima and was captured a short time later, police said.
Authorities did not provide the location of the crime.
Lalla was being held without bond Monday at the Broward Main Jail.
