Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen
Nancy Metayer Bowen was appointed to serve a second, one-year term as Vice Mayor for the City of Coral Springs by her fellow Commissioners on Wednesday.
First elected to the Coral Springs City Commission in 2020 and re-elected in 2024, Metayer Bowen was first appointed Vice Mayor in December 2024. She serves as liaison to several advisory boards, including the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee, Environmental Sustainability Committee, and the Broward County Climate Change Task Force.
This year, Metayer Bowen was also honored with the 2025 Home Rule Hero Award for her efforts to advocate for local decision-making by providing lawmakers with community-based insights and data, reinforcing the belief that cities are best governed at the local level.
The Home Rule Hero Award is presented to officials who go above and beyond in advocating for Home Rule, ensuring municipalities retain the authority to address community needs without excessive state interference.
