Riverside Elementary in Coral Springs welcomes a new face: veteran educator Lisa Balint has assumed her new role as Principal as of July 1.
A proud Florida native hailing from Orlando, Balint brings a wealth of experience to Riverside, accumulated over years of teaching and leadership roles in numerous schools across the state.
After completing her undergraduate studies at Stetson University and Florida State University, Balint embarked on her teaching career in Orlando. After relocating to South Florida in 2000, she held various teaching positions at Tamarac Elementary and Manatee Bay Elementary, teaching Kindergarten to 5th grade.
In 2016, Balint transitioned to a Reading Resource teacher position at Stephen Foster Elementary. Her leadership potential became evident when she was appointed Assistant Principal at Floranada Elementary in 2019.
In the spring of 2023, Balint further honed her leadership skills as the interim Principal at Park Trails Elementary, paving the way for her current role at Riverside Elementary.
Beyond her professional life, Balint cherishes her family life in Fort Lauderdale, where she resides with her husband. She is also a proud mother to two daughters and two stepsons and recently welcomed her first grandchild this January.

Riverside Elementary, located at 11450 Riverside Drive, Coral Springs, is set to host around 650 students for the new academic year. Balint is eager to make the school more inviting for young learners. While she plans to uphold the successful programs already in place, she’s also working closely with the Parent-Teacher Organization to plan enriching activities for the upcoming year.
Balint acknowledges the parents’ concerns about school security and assures them of her commitment. “School security is of the utmost importance to me,” she told Coral Springs Talk. As a parent, Balint recognizes the significance of robust policies and procedures to ensure student safety. She is adamant about being a visible figure throughout the school, personally getting to know each student.
Riverside Elementary is planning several events to welcome families back to school. A community Meet and Greet will be scheduled before school starts, the details of which will be shared on social media and via Robocall. The Parent-Teacher Organization has also scheduled a family night at the end of July.
