Young performers across South Florida will once again have the chance to step into the spotlight this summer as Next Stop Broadway returns to the Coral Springs Center for the Arts with its Summer Camp 2026 program, offering theater training and full-scale musical productions for students of all ages.
Designed to build confidence, encourage creativity, and showcase the transformative power of theater, the camp combines professional instruction with fun, camp-style activities. Each session includes spirit rallies, dress-up days, movie days, and talent shows, culminating in a fully staged musical production in which every camper performs.
“There’s something truly magical that happens when a young person steps into the world of theatre; it’s not just about learning lines or hitting a dance step, it’s about discovering who they are, believing in themselves, and feeling the transformative power of the stage,” said Cynthia O’Brien, artistic director of Next Stop Broadway. “That’s been the real magic of our camp for the past 23 years.”
The Youth Camp, open to students entering grades 1 through 8, offers daily classes in acting, singing, and dancing as campers rehearse for popular productions. This year’s shows include Seussical the Musical, Frozen and The Little Mermaid. Participants audition for roles, develop performance skills, and work together to bring the productions to life on stage.
For older students, the Teen Theatre Project provides a more intensive, pre-professional experience. Open to students in grades 9 and up, teens submit virtual auditions and are cast in lead, supporting, or ensemble roles in Mean Girls: High School Edition. Participants refine acting techniques, strengthen ensemble skills, and gain experience performing in a Broadway-style production.
Students interested in backstage work can join the Teen Tech Project, also for grades 9 and up. This hands-on program focuses on technical theater elements, including lighting, sound, costumes, props, and set design, while participants assist in supporting camp productions.
Families can reserve a spot with a $99 deposit, and sibling discounts and full-summer savings are available.
Camp sessions are scheduled as follows:
• Session 1: Seussical the Musical, June 8–26
• Session 2: Frozen, June 29–July 17
• Session 3: The Little Mermaid, July 20–Aug. 7
• Teen Theatre Project: Mean Girls: High School Edition, June 29–July 21
• Teen Tech Project: June 29–July 21
Registration is now open. More information and registration details are available at Next Stop Broadway.
