The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation is offering local educators an opportunity to secure funding for projects that enrich students and bring innovative ideas into area schools.
The foundation has opened applications for its Micro Grant Program, which will provide $500 grants to qualifying public and charter elementary, middle and high schools in Coral Springs and Coconut Creek.
According to the chamber, the program is intended to support student enrichment, innovation and essential resources for schools throughout the Chamber’s service area.
Applications are now open and will be accepted through Oct. 2. The Education Taskforce, working with the Education Foundation Board of Directors, will review applications from Oct. 5 through Oct. 23. Grant recipients are scheduled to be notified on Oct. 29.
The grants will be awarded twice a year, with funds distributed directly to the schools by check. The first round of checks is scheduled to be presented in November during the Chamber’s Race for Education 5K Run/Walk.
Applicants must provide a project title and summary, the amount requested, an explanation of who will benefit from the project and how, a brief budget, and approval from the school’s principal.
Schools may request up to $500, and the application asks educators to provide information about the project’s purpose, goals, anticipated beginning and ending dates, total cost, number of students served and any additional funding sources.
Projects will be evaluated based on innovation or creativity, direct impact on students, clear and realistic goals, and the project’s ability to be reasonably completed within the available grant amount.
Chamber membership is recommended but not required. Schools that are Chamber members in good standing will receive bonus consideration during the selection process.
Recipients will also be required to report on how the grant money was used. Grant expenditure reports are due by Jan. 31, 2027, and failure to submit a report could affect eligibility for future funding.
