The Sound Lizards Perform Saturday night at Our Town America
By Sharon Aron Baron
Carnival rides, illustrious prizes, and the irresistible scent of funnel cakes are back in town.
The three-day arts, entertainment, and business festival begins Friday, March 10, from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday, March 11, from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The carnival is geared toward family fun and includes live entertainment, a food court, amusements, arts & crafts, merchant booths, games, and more.
The first OurTownAmerica was held in 1979 and was originally sponsored by the Coral Springs Chamber of Commerce. However, in 1997, nonprofit organizations and private individuals came together to reorganize the event, forming OurTownAmerica, Inc., a not-for-profit 501(c) 3 organization. Since then, the board of OurTownAmerica, Inc. has put on the event, and it has become a staple of the community.
“OurTownAmerica has one mission in mind: to provide a quality family event for our tri-county community while providing financial assistance to needy nonprofit organizations,” said OurTownAmerica, Inc. Board Chairman Ernie Kubasek.
