
Parkridge Christian Academy Softball. {PCA Athletics}
Parkridge Christian Academy Middle School Baseball and Softball wrapped up their seasons, finishing a combined 18-1 on the year.
The baseball team won the Schools United Athletic Conference tournament in May, defeating Sheridan Hills Christian 16-1 in 3 innings. The team went 11-1 on the season, outscoring opponents 135-32, and is 19-1 in its first season in school history.
Four eighth graders led the team. Maddox Carter hit .686 on the year, including 17 extra-base hits and 30 runs batted in. On the mound, Maddox tossed 18 innings without giving up an earned run, striking out 42 hitters. Jovanni DeFalco hit .531 on the season, adding ten extra-base hits and 20 runs batted in. Connor Boyette and Izaiah Campbell chipped in 18 runs batted in, with Campbell totaling 15 innings on the mound and 27 strikeouts.
PCA Softball finished its perfect inaugural season with a 7-0 record, outscoring opponents 108-16. Jade Nowalk paced the team with a .750 batting average. She finished the year with seven extra-base hits and nine runs knocked in. Sophia Arigo hit .667 on the year with six extra-base hits and 13 runs batted in. Fifth-grader Kennedy Dodd led the team in the circle with 13 innings and 32 strikeouts, all without giving up an earned run.
Parkridge Christian Academy is also set to host four camps this summer.. The basketball camp will be from June 3-7 from 10:30 a.m.- 2 p.m. for incoming kindergartners to eighth graders. The volleyball camp will be on July 1-5. Baseball and softball will be July 24-28 and volleyball will be August 1-5. Registration is $200 a week, $75 per day, and $500 for a family.
