The Coral Springs Festival of the Arts is bringing a unique literary experience to the community, featuring renowned poet and playwright Darius V. Daughtry in an interactive poetry writing workshop.
Partnering with the Broward County Library, the festival will host “The Poet Within with Darius Daughtry” on Sunday, March 9, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Northwest Regional Library in Coral Springs. This free event will provide participants with hands-on guidance from Daughtry and members of the Art Prevails Project, a collective dedicated to fostering artistic expression.
During the workshop, attendees will engage in exercises, prompts, and live demonstrations led by some of South Florida’s most talented poets. The session is designed to help writers of all skill levels develop their poetic voice, from idea to creation. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis—no tickets required.
Daughtry, author of And the Walls Came Tumbling and several critically acclaimed plays is known for his dynamic approach to storytelling. He has shared his work and facilitated workshops for esteemed institutions such as the Miami Book Fair, TEDx, the U.S. Naval Academy, and the University of Florida.
