Chabad Jewish Center in Coral Springs.
The Chabad Jewish Center in Coral Springs is spearheading an initiative to ensure that no Jewish family in the area is left without Shmurah Matzah for their Seder this Passover.
Project Matzah, planned for Sunday, April 7, seeks to distribute 1,000 packages of Shmurah Matzah to those who would otherwise be unable to obtain this essential element of the Passover Seder.
Shmurah Matzah, which means “guarded matzah,” is specially hand-made from wheat that is guarded from the moment of harvest to ensure it meets the strictest standards of Kosher for Passover observance. Many consider it the most traditional form of matzah.
The distribution event is scheduled for April 7, with a pick-up window between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. at the Chabad Jewish Center, 11324 West Atlantic Boulevard.
Delivery options are available for those unable to pick up their package in person.
The Chabad Jewish Center is seeking community help in various ways. Volunteers are needed to help during the distribution event, including packing and delivering the Matzah packages to local families.
To offset the cost of the event – which the Chabad Center estimates will exceed $10,000 – they have introduced several sponsorship opportunities, ranging from the Project Sponsor level at $1,800 to Co-Sponsor at $180.
