State inspectors temporarily shut down a Coral Springs Chinese restaurant after discovering rodent droppings, dead cockroaches, and multiple food safety violations during an October 8 inspection.
Inspectors ordered China Spring III, located at 8100 Wiles Road, to close after documenting 15 violations, including evidence of rodent activity in food preparation and storage areas.
According to the inspection report, inspectors found rodent droppings on the kitchen floor beneath preparation tables, food containers, and reach-in coolers.
The report also documented dead cockroaches in two areas of the restaurant.
Food storage practices also caused multiple violations. Inspectors also observed an employee handling dirty dishes before touching clean dishes and food without washing their hands.
Other violations included grease, food debris, dirt, slime, or dust on nonfood-contact surfaces throughout the restaurant. Inspectors also found that all employees’ required food safety training had expired.
China Spring III must pass a reinspection verifying that all violations have been resolved before reopening.
