The North Broward Business Card is a win-win for residents and businesses with no cost to business owners and no coupons to clip.

Carolyn Monroe is helping local businesses during these difficult times while also passing savings on to residents.
Fourteen years ago, Carolyn and her husband, Steve, moved to South Florida to start their own coupon book business. As time progressed, the rising cost of printing and distributing the booklet made the business model no longer feasible.
With the onset of Covid-19, Carolyn found that it was much harder for restaurants and other small businesses to pay hundreds of dollars for ads with little or no return.
While speaking with residents, Carolyn also discovered that they did not open coupon publications, and those who did often forgot to bring their coupons with them when they shopped.
Following this, Carolyn came up with an idea for something better and called it The North Broward Discount Card. She believed it was a win-win for residents and businesses with no cost to business owners and no coupons to clip.
Over 40 Coral Springs businesses participate, including local favorites: Annie’s Pizza, Casa Tequila, Dyan’s Country Kitchen, El Balcon De Las Americas, Coral Springs Diner, Little Havana Bar & Grille, Pepperoni Grill, El Cubano Sandwich Shop, Crocante Cafe & Gourmet Bakery, Joe’s Pizza & Pasta, American Craft Kitchen & Taproom, and Fuji Sushi Cafe.
“If your favorite restaurant is participating, you’re saving money every time you dine in or take out by simply showing the card, or maybe you will find a new favorite because you saw their discount on the North Broward Discount Card website and you tried something new,” said Carolyn. “Within the first one or two times you use the card, the card pays for itself.”
In addition to restaurant discounts, residents can save money on automotive repairs, dance lessons, massages, haircuts, spa treatments, pet grooming, pool supplies, and much more.
“This is better than a book because people don’t have to carry coupons around with them, and businesses can advertise for free,” she said.
With over 200 participating businesses in North Broward and continually growing, she says it is a great program and updates the online lists every Monday with locations in Coral Springs, Boca Raton, Coconut Creek, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Lighthouse Point, Margate, Parkland, and Pompano Beach. Interested vendors should contact Carolyn to join the program.
Schools or local organizations looking for fundraising opportunities can also benefit by earning a $10 commission on each card sold. “It’s the easiest $10,000 a school can possibly make. All they need to do is sell 1,000 cards,” said Carolyn.
The North Broward Discount card costs $15 and is valid through the end of 2021. It can be purchased here or at the following Coral Springs locations: Three Amigos Healthy Pet Supplies, at 9830 W. Sample Road and Mona’s Clothing, 4614 N. University Drive.
