Sawgrass Middle School is making a statement this fall with its soccer team’s success and its cross-country team’s strong runs.
The boys soccer team capped off an incredible regular season with a Division Championship before their dominating win over Bair Middle School on Friday.
The Gators won 8-0 in their playoff game after not dropping a game during the regular season. They will be in action again on Monday, Oct. 7, against Pompano Beach Middle School. The Bengals also won their Division Championship and beat Lauderdale Middle School in their opening game.
In cross country, Sawgrass Middle School ran in the Northwest Area Schools XC Championship, finishing seventh, with Azariah Israel and Massimo Bermudez placing in the top 35. The girls’ team came in eighth place, with Ayakamakeida Brissett recording the top time. Sasha Mello was next to finish, followed by Mahavven Bhuiyan and Ivanka Dao.
