Soldier Rush’s 2024 boot camp-style race is set to return to Parkland, complete with a military-style obstacle course race, giveaways, and more.
The race will be held on Saturday, September 14, at the Parkland Equestrian Center, 8350 Ranch Road, starting at 6:30 a.m. and running until noon.
According to the Soldier Rush organizer Manuel Mair, the event is designed for people of all fitness levels. “This would be a good event for people who have not participated in an obstacle course before,” said Mair.
The 5K (3.1) mile course will include 17 four-foot-high walls that participants must climb over to honor those who died in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting. Individuals must also crawl under barriers, monkey bars, a rope climb, and cargo net walls.
“Individuals who complete this course will have a sense of accomplishment at the end,” said Mair, a retired Marine.
The annual event is in its 10th year, and patriotism is at the heart of it. Those participating will have a real military boot camp experience and face endurance, strength, speed, and dexterity tests in a fun atmosphere. Soldier Rush supports Fitness on a Mission, a 501(c)3 organization that helps veterans and first responders.

According to Mair, participants will receive a finisher medal, a T-shirt, beverages, and snacks from Funky Buddha.
