Somerset Parkland Academy is holding three informational sessions for residents interested in learning more about the new charter school.
Parents of prospective students are invited to meet Principal Geyler Herrera Castro, who was recently appointed to the K-8 school and is currently the principal of Somerset Academy Riverside in Coral Springs.
According to Academica, the Education Service Provider for Somerset, Castro will work as principal at both schools and have two administrative teams who will be available to students and parents to ensure that each academy’s goals are accomplished.
Open to Coral Springs residents, the three information sessions will be held at Congregation Kol Tikvah, located at 6750 North University Drive in Parkland on February 25, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., March 10, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and March 19, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
In addition to meeting Principal Castro, students can apply on-site for the 2020-2021 school year, during the initial limited enrollment period, which continues through March 13.
Somerset Parkland Academy is a K-8 charter school slated to open in the fall of 2020 and is located at the intersection of Hillsboro Boulevard and University Drive.
