High School football continued in Coral Springs this past week, featuring varsity and junior varsity teams.
Coral Glades was the lone varsity team to compete, losing 61-6 against Spanish River Community High School.
The Jaguars’ only win came against Coral Springs High School. They will play Marjory Stoneman Douglas in their next game on Friday, October 4, at 6 p.m. Coral Glades lost 24-6 last year, but the Eagles are winless this season.
J.P. Taravella High School held their game against Coral Springs Charter on Thursday postponed. The Panthers are still 1-4 and will play Northeast High School in their next game on Friday, October 4 at 7 p.m. The Hurricanes beat JPT earlier this year but lost 46-14 last season.
The Trojans are 0-4 and will be back in action on Tuesday against Everglades High School. They won 35-0 in last year’s matchup and have two victories this year against Fort Lauderdale and Mater Academy Charter.
The Coral Springs High School football team had their game against Monarch High School postponed and will play Doral Academy on Thursday, October 10, at 7 p.m. The Firebirds won their first two games this year but dropped two straight after reaching the postseason last season, going 5-5.
Coral Glades dominated J.P. Taravella at the junior varsity level with a 56-0 win. The Jaguars lost in their first game against Charles W. Flanagan High School but have responded with three straight wins, defeating Monarch and Deerfield Beach High School. They will play Piper High School in their final game on October 16 at 5:30 p.m.
Coral Springs High School lost a close one against Marjory Stoneman Douglas 9-6. This was their first season loss after beating Nova and Everglades High School. The Colts will play Fort Lauderdale High School in their next game on October 8 at 5:30 p.m.
