Coral Springs High School announced Anthony Wallace as the new head coach of the varsity football team.
He takes over for Eddie Brown, who spent one year at CSHS and stepped down on July 20. Wallace becomes the fifth coach in the last five years but plans to be one that is in for the long haul in hopes of reaching the standards expected by the community.
“The support staff at the school, players, and other coaches have been all in and buying in with the hopes and aspirations that we bring into this program,” Wallace said. “It’s going to be all collectively. It’s not just going to be on me.”
Wallace previously coached at McArthur in 2020 and spent the last three years at Pompano Beach High School. The Colts are coming off a season where they went 5-5. They have not finished above .500 since 2017 and will open their season on August 23 against Palm Beach Lake High School. CSHS will also play Nova, Coral Glades, Piper, South Plantation, Key West, Monarch, Fort Lauderdale, and J.P. Taravella.
“We are taking this season on full steam ahead,” Wallace added. “We are going to prepare each week and continue fighting and clawing our way back up to the standards expected by our community.”
