We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym held a grand opening celebration on April 5.
The gym, located at 1300 North University Drive in Coral Springs, welcomes all children but is considered a sensory gym and focuses on helping children with autism, according to Lindsay Vidra, the owner and franchisee.
A professional with a vibrant and caring personality, Vidra welcomed families to the gym. On the gym's first day, children and parents were having fun. A trampoline was full of jumping children, while others enjoyed the zipline. Many kids were using gym equipment.
"I have been a special education teacher, and I wanted to have an all-inclusive gym," said Vidra.
An experienced and dedicated child advocate, Vidra strongly focuses on each child's individual needs. Her primary goal is to ensure children thrive and develop in a safe, adaptable, and educational environment. She has worked in NYC public schools and private schools for children with a variety of learning disabilities. According to the gym's website, this is an important goal.
John Field, who owns We Rock the Spectrum corporation in Boca Raton, and his wife Gail attended the grand opening.
"We welcome all kids here. If children who don't have autism play with those who do, they will be less likely to pick on them when they age," he said.
The gym will host birthday parties, special events, and classes. We Rock the Spectrum Kids Gym is open 7 days a week, but the hours vary.
