A woman has been charged with domestic violence after allegedly attacking her husband upon seeing a female on television who reminded her of her husband’s former fling.
On October 5, the Coral Springs Police Department responded to a domestic violence call at a residence near the 11500 block of Royal Palm Boulevard.
According to the caller, a verbal argument between a husband and wife over alleged infidelity had escalated into a physical altercation.
According to the initial CSPD police report, a woman, later identified as Betsy Budrewicz, 45, of Coral Springs, was watching television with her husband when Budrewicz reportedly became irate after seeing a woman on the screen, referencing Blanchard’s previous affair with a Black woman.
Records of the conversation provided by the victim allege that Budrewicz began yelling, “Why did you fuck a n—-r?” which led to a heated argument between the two.
The victim stated that Budrewicz then demanded that he leave the residence. While he was packing his belongings, Budrewicz allegedly began throwing various items at him.
According to the victim, the situation turned physical as Budrewicz started scratching and biting him on several parts of his body, including his back, upper and lower arms, and neck.
Officers at the scene observed injuries on the victim that were consistent with his account. The victim declined medical assistance and stated that he had defended himself by restraining Budrewicz from further attacking him.
The report shows that Budrewicz, who was visibly upset when officers arrived, initially refused to provide any information and appeared incoherent.
Eventually, Budrewicz confirmed that they were arguing over infidelity but claimed that it was her husband who was the aggressor and who had forcibly taken her to the ground and held her there. She could not provide specific details on how she was pinned down or how the victim sustained his injuries.
Responding officers observed that Budrewicz had minor red markings on her face and a small amount of dried blood on the inside of her left lip. Both parties refused medical treatment at the scene.
After an investigation, Budrewicz was determined to be the aggressor. She was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
