A woman was killed and a teenage driver injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday at the intersection of Coral Springs Drive and Wiles Road, according to Coral Springs Police.
Police officers and the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a major traffic accident involving a red Toyota and a red Ford pickup truck Wednesday morning.
When first responders arrived, they found Liz Garcia, 26, inside the Toyota. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her family has been notified.
Police said a 19-year-old man driving the Ford pickup was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators determined the Toyota had been traveling north on Coral Springs Drive when it failed to stop at a red light at Wiles Road, colliding with the eastbound Ford pickup.
Police said the investigation has concluded, and no criminal charges will be filed against the driver of the Ford.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information is asked to contact Coral Springs Police Officer Luke Jennings at ljennings@coralsprings.com.
