High school girls’ basketball is underway in Coral Springs, and a pair of teams picked up wins in their first game.
In their first game of the season, Coral Springs High School picked up a 64-25 win over Charles W. Flanagan High School.
This is the third straight season the Colts have won their season opener. They are coming off a season where they won 11 games and competed in a Regional Game.
Next, the Colts will be in action in a tournament on Saturday, Nov. 19, against Palm Beach Central High School at 11:30 a.m. The Broncos went 12-8 a season ago before they lost to Santaluces High School in the postseason.
Coral Glades also won their first game over Stranahan High School 45-16.
The Jaguars won 11 games last season, including a win over South Plantation High School in the postseason.
Through the first three games, Camryn Smith has scored 37 points, though they fell in their two games against Planation by four points and then Boyton Beach High School on Friday.
Next, the Jaguars will play their next game on Saturday, Nov. 26, against Benjamin High School. The Buccaneers are 2-0 with wins over Gulliver Prep and Lake Worth Christian High School.
