More than 30 of the top masters basketball teams from across the United States will compete at the National Masters Championship in Coral Springs, starting on May 2 and continuing through May 7.
The Masters Basketball Association’s tournament brings men’s teams from as young as 40 to older than 80 years old. Women’s teams 30 years and older also have a chance to compete.
Teams can register through April 2 for the tournament, held at the Coral Springs Gymnasium, located at 2501 Coral Springs Drive, and Deerfield Beach’s Skorplex Sports Center at 3650 SW 10th St.
The 2022 tournament will be the 38th held in South Florida and the 22nd at the Coral Springs Gymnasium, according to the organization. The association previously hosted the tournament in Coral Springs in 2021, after COVID forced its cancellation in 2020.
The 2022 tournament will start with a welcome ceremony at The View at Colony West Golf Club in Tamarac, where Rod Rothstein, retired Miami Heat Coach, will be the guest speaker.
Teams will compete starting on May 3 and continue through May 7. The association will release the full schedule of games in April.
